The Peak Forest Canal runs some 6 and a half miles through Stockport entering at Woodley and finishing one and a half miles beyond Marple Locks. During it's journey it passes through some of Stockport's wildlife rich areas, notably Chadkirk,Brabyns Park, and crosses the river Goyt at the wonderful Marple Aqueduct.
